The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join our client’s Safety team to work at their busy and expanding Terminal.
SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
Experience in similar role, specifically in risk assessments, auditing and inspection, investigating and reporting on accidents / incidents, safe systems of work and Safety Management Systems
Up to date knowledge of safety & environmental legislation
High level of professionalism
Good communication skills are essential
Excellent IT skills with experience of using Microsoft programmes including Outlook, Word and Excel
High attention to detail and accuracy
Full UK driving licence
JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the safety team all incidents and accidents and actions arising – maintaining a database of these and ensuring that the actions are closed off
Attending accidents and incidents (where possible) as informed by the operational or engineering staff, ensuring that these are documented and determining whether further investigation is required
Attending local safety meetings
Liaising with safety reps on a formal and informal basis
Assisting in completion of workplace transport risk assessments in conjunction with the site or are manager
Completing safety inspections and compliance audits, producing written reports and following up of any actions in accordance with objectives set
Undertaking monthly statutory checks of fire extinguishers, alarms and other fire systems
Completing drug and alcohol testing, in accordance with the company policy
Managing of first aid supplies and checking first aid kits in accordance with the Safety Management requirements
Delivering health and safety, and security inductions to new members of staff
