The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
We are working with a well-established and highly regarded law firm on the outskirts of Tunbridge Wells, who are looking to appoint an experienced Legal Cashier to join their finance team.
This is a key position within the firm, supporting both the accounts function and fee earners on a day-to-day basis.
The Role
You will be taking over a well-established role with clear processes and responsibilities. The current post-holder plays a central part in the firm's financial operations and works closely with both clients and fee earners.
A large part of the role involves using LEAP to manage the firm's billing and financial administration. This includes entering time, generating and issuing invoices, and handling client-to-office account transfers. You will also take ownership of LEAP administration, ensuring the system is kept accurate and up to date, enabling the external accountant to focus on reconciliations.
You will be responsible for credit control, actively chasing outstanding debts, and maintaining strong cash flow. In addition, you will handle client queries relating to invoices and liaise with fee earners to resolve any billing issues.
Key Responsibilities
Managing billing processes via LEAP, including time entry and invoice generation
Sending invoices and processing client-to-office transfers
Full administration of the LEAP system
Credit control and chasing outstanding debts
Acting as a key point of contact for client billing queries
Liaising with fee earners to resolve financial and billing issues
Supporting the accountant by maintaining accurate financial records
Ensuring compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules About You
Previous experience as a Legal Cashier within a law firm
Strong working knowledge of LEAP
Solid understanding of Solicitors Accounts Rules
Experience managing billing and credit control processes
Excellent attention to detail and organisation
