Anne Corder Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced part time Receptionist to join a professional and welcoming organisation based in Peterborough for an ongoing temporary assignment.

The role will be working 8am - 4pm the first week and the just morning there on.

As the first point of contact for visitors, callers and colleagues, you’ll play an important role in creating a positive first impression. We’re looking for someone who is naturally warm and approachable, but equally professional, discreet and organised.

What you’ll be doing

Welcoming and registering visitors, ensuring they receive a professional and friendly first impression

Answering, screening and directing incoming calls and enquiries

Managing meeting room bookings and maintaining accurate visitor logs

Coordinating incoming and outgoing post and couriers

Ensuring the reception area remains tidy, organised and professional

Supporting colleagues with general administration, including calendar coordination, scanning documents and travel arrangements

Handling confidential or sensitive information with discretion

Responding calmly and professionally to sensitive or distressed callers and escalating appropriately

Following relevant data protection and health & safety procedures

What we’re looking for

You’ll ideally have previous reception, front-of-house or customer-facing experience within a professional environment.

You’ll also need:

Excellent communication skills and a confident, professional telephone manner

A naturally welcoming and helpful approach

Strong organisation and attention to detail

The ability to remain calm when reception or telephone lines are busy

Good Microsoft Office and calendar management skills

Experience using visitor management or CRM systems would be beneficial

A professional approach to handling confidential information

Reliability and the ability to work effectively as part of a wider office team
