The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring products meet the highest quality standards through testing, reporting, calibration, and quality control activities. You will work closely with production teams, inspectors, and internal stakeholders to support the delivery of certified, high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, test and report hose carcass adhesions in line with quality standards and certification requirements.
Conduct testing and reporting of polyurethane (PU) hose covers.
Sample, mould and test rubber compounds to required specifications.
Sample, test and label incoming goods and overage materials.
Maintain accurate paper and electronic laboratory records.
Perform cord extraction testing on serviced hoses following solvent treatment.
Sample, test and adjust concentration levels of wash reagents from production fittings tanks.
Assist with training and supporting new team members.
Respond to enquiries from internal departments and provide technical support where required.
Carry out internal calibration checks on laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
Maintain excellent housekeeping standards within the laboratory.
Follow all health and safety procedures and actively contribute to a safe working environment.What We're Looking For Essential Experience
Previous laboratory and materials testing experience.
Experience working within a manufacturing, engineering, quality, or industrial environment.
Strong record-keeping and reporting skills.Knowledge & Technical Understanding Good understanding of:
Chemistry and/or materials science.
Laboratory operations and best practices.
Laboratory testing techniques and procedures.
Laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
Quality testing methods and standards.Qualifications
A-Level or equivalent qualification in Science, Materials, Engineering, or a related discipline.Skills & Attributes
Strong laboratory and IT skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Well-organised with the ability to manage changing priorities.
Self-motivated and proactive approach to work.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
