About the Role
Are you a dedicated and patient individual looking for a impactful role in secondary education? Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to partner with a popular and community-focused secondary school in Dalton-in-Furness to recruit a 1:1 Teaching Assistant for the full 2026/2027 academic year.
In this rewarding role, you will be providing tailored, one-to-one support to a secondary student, helping them navigate their daily timetable, access the curriculum across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, and reach their full academic and personal potential.
Key Responsibilities
Providing dedicated 1:1 academic, emotional, and social support throughout the school day.
Adapting learning materials and activities to suit the student's individual learning style and needs.
Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and pastoral team to track and report on progress.
Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive engagement in classroom activities.
Implementing strategies outlined in the student's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
What We Are Looking For
Experience supporting children or young people, ideally on a 1:1 basis in an educational or care setting.
A warm, empathetic, and resilient approach with strong relationship-building skills.
The ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing daily needs.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative working style.
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to process one).
