The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
My client is an established and well-respected law firm with offices in Guildford and London offering a range of legal services. They are seeking a Healthcare Regulatory and Professional Discipline Solicitor. This team is highly regarded in this diverse and exciting area of work, having been ranked in The Legal 500. They act for medical defence organisations and private clients in respect of regulatory, disciplinary, coronial and criminal matters.
They are looking for a fee earner (1 – 3 years’ PQE) to join the team. The work will involve advising lay and institutional clients on GMC/GDC investigations, Inquests, police investigations and prosecutions (subject to experience) and Health Board/Trust disciplinary matters.
Main responsibilities:-
* Take responsibility for managing own caseload with supervision
* Ensure case management records are maintained
* Assist other lawyers in the team with their work, including supporting senior fee earners where necessary
* Due to the nature of the work, be flexible to assist with cases and instructions outside of normal working hours when required
* Meet chargeable hours targets
* Assist with the training and development of junior members of the team and training sessions provided to our institutional clients
The successful candidate will be a qualified solicitor, 1 – 3 years’ PQE (relevant additional experience will also be considered), and you will have some experience in professional regulation.
As the role is varied, they are looking for someone with a flexible approach, You must possess knowledge of the healthcare regulation processes (ideally GMC and GDC proceedings) and have advocacy experience in matters such as Pre Inquest Hearings, Inquests, Interim Orders Hearings and police interviews (preferred but not essential).
