Semi-Skilled Fitters Required - Aerospace Manufacturing
Winsearch UK are currently recruiting for two Semi-Skilled Fitters on behalf of a leading aerospace manufacturing business based in Dukinfield. The successful candidates will have previous experience in structural assembly or aerospace manufacturing and will be responsible for carrying out a variety of fitting and assembly operations to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out aircraft structural and airframe assembly operations in line with engineering drawings and specifications.
Perform drilling, countersinking, riveting and associated fitting activities.
Install and fit bearings, bushes, helicoils and other aerospace components.
Apply sealants and adhesives in accordance with process requirements.
Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and work instructions.
Maintain a safe and organised working environment in line with company Health & Safety procedures and 5S standards.
Work collaboratively with production and quality teams to meet manufacturing schedules and customer requirements.
Report any defects, quality concerns or equipment issues promptly.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
Previous experience within an aerospace, aviation, engineering or manufacturing assembly environment.
Experience of structural assembly or airframe fitting activities.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Knowledge and practical experience of:
Drilling
Countersinking
Riveting
Application of sealants
Installation of helicoils
Fitting of bearings and bushes
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to work safely and adhere to site Health & Safety requirements.
Desirable
Previous aerospace manufacturing experience.
Experience working to aerospace quality standards.
Apprenticeship or engineering-related qualifications.
Selection Process
Candidates who are shortlisted will be invited to attend a two-stage interview process.
As part of the final stage, applicants will be required to undertake a practical trade test to demonstrate their ability to carry out assembly and fitting processes to aerospace quality standards.
