About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Toolmaker / Grinder to join our clients busy engineering team in Ash Vale. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled manual/CNC machinist or toolroom engineer with a strong background in precision grinding to work within a well-established manufacturing environment.
Working a 39-hour week with an early finish every Friday, you'll be responsible for producing high-quality precision components to exact customer specifications while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
* Surface grinding
* Cylindrical grinding
* Bore/Internal grinding
* Ring grinding
* Honing
* Working to fine tolerances
* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
* Using precision measuring equipment to inspect finished components
* Working independently and as part of a team
* Meeting production schedules and customer deadlines while maintaining quality standards
What We're Looking For
* Experience as a manual/CNC machinist, toolmaker or toolroom engineer
* Strong grinding experience across a range of precision grinding processes
* The ability to work to tight tolerances
* Confidence reading and interpreting technical/engineering drawings
* Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment
* A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail
* The ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
* This position would suit someone who is apprentice trained or has gained equivalent qualifications through extensive hands-on experience in a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
What's on Offer
* Competitive salary of £33,000 - £39,000, depending on experience
* 39-hour working week
* Early finish every Friday (1:15pm)
* Overtime available:
* Weekdays paid at 1.3x basic hourly rate
* Weekends paid at 1.5x basic hourly rate
* 25 days' annual leave, with some holidays taken during the Christmas shutdown
