Quality Engineer

Do you enjoy getting hands-on with precision manufacturing, driving root cause analysis, and leading process improvements from the ground up?

We're supporting an innovative technology company operating in precision, high-tech manufacturing, currently going through a period of strong growth and business transformation. They're looking for a Quality Engineer to join their Cambridge team, playing a key role in driving product, process and system quality across the business. They need somebody who can work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing and Operations to resolve complex quality challenges and embed a quality-led culture.

What you'll be doing:
Continuous Improvement & Quality Culture

Leading root cause investigations and driving corrective and preventive actions using recognised quality methodologies.
Analysing quality data and performance trends to identify improvement opportunities.
Championing a quality-first culture, promoting best practice and continuous improvement across the business.
Supporting the organisation's transformation journey by embedding quality principles into everyday decision-making.Product & Process Quality

Partnering with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to improve product quality, process capability and reliability.
Supporting the introduction and validation of new products, software releases and manufacturing processes.
Participating in risk assessment and mitigation activities to improve operational performance and customer satisfaction.Quality Systems & Compliance

Supporting the ongoing development and effectiveness of the Quality Management System.
Ensuring compliance with ISO9001 and other relevant regulatory, customer and business requirements.
Planning and supporting internal audit activities, and driving actions arising from audit findings.
Supporting change management activities to ensure effective implementation and ongoing compliance.Stakeholder & Business Support

Managing and investigating internal, supplier and customer quality concerns.
Monitoring the effectiveness of corrective actions and verifying sustainable improvements.
Developing and reporting quality KPIs, and presenting recommendations to management.
Building strong cross-functional relationships across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Operations.
Acting as a visible advocate for quality excellence throughout the organisation.What we're looking for:

Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
Proven Quality Engineer experience within a manufacturing, engineering or technology environment.
Solid knowledge of Quality Management Systems and ISO9001, with experience leading root cause investigations and corrective actions (8D, RCA, RCCA, FMEA).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, comfortable interpreting engineering proposals and using data to drive decisions.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a keen eye for detail and solid Health & Safety awareness.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.Nice to have:

Internal Auditor qualification, ISO27001 experience, or knowledge of RoHS/REACH/SCIP.
Background in electronics, telecoms, optical or other high-tech manufacturing.
Experience with statistical tools (Minitab/JMP) and manufacturing process validation
