Electrical Build Technician / Electrical Fitter

A global manufacturing business with four UK production sites is looking to hire an experienced Electrical Build Technician / Electrical Fitter to join their production team.
This is a hands-on electrical assembly role, building complex electrical systems, control panels and sub-assemblies used within high-spec manufacturing equipment. You will work from electrical schematics, BOMs and technical specifications, ensuring all builds meet strict ISO and quality standards.
This role would suit candidates from special purpose machinery, automation, aerospace, defence, capital equipment or complex manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Build electrical systems, sub-assemblies and piece parts to engineering drawings and specifications
- Ensure BOM and customer specification requirements are met during assembly
- Carry out electrical wiring, crimping, soldering and cable termination
- Work with control panels, MCBs, contactors, relays, PLC wiring and inverter drives
- Interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Identify and resolve build issues and wiring faults
- Report technical issues through FRACAS processes
- Maintain high standards of build quality, cleanliness and 5S
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide build guidance and mentor junior technicians
Essential Experience
- Experience building electrical systems for machinery or complex equipment
- Strong background in electrical wiring and panel building
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
- Experience with:
- Control panels
- MCBs, contactors and relays
- PLC wiring
- Inverter drives
- Cable crimping, soldering and termination
- Strong fault-finding ability and attention to detail
Desirable Qualifications
- Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship
- 16th / 17th Edition Electrical qualification
- HNC / HND Electrical or Electronic Engineering
- City & Guilds Electrical / Electronic Engineering

Day Shift
Mon – Thurs: 08:00 – 16:30
Fri: 08:00 – 13:00
Early Shift
Mon – Thurs: 06:00 – 14:00
Fri: 06:00 – 11:00
Late Shift
Mon – Thurs: 14:00 – 22:00
Fri: 11:00 – 16:00
