Assistant General Manager

up to £30,000pa d.o.e, 28 days holiday, 40hrs per week, Friday to Tuesday, Pension, Parking, Permanent

We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Assistant General Manager to support the effective operation of our independently run countryside hotel, which includes a well‑established bar and restaurant. This role requires a confident hospitality professional with a proven background in management and a commitment to delivering consistently high standards of service.

Operational Support: Assist the General Manager in overseeing all daily hotel, bar, and restaurant operations to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.
Team Leadership: Supervise, motivate, and develop staff across all departments, promoting a positive and professional working environment.
Service Standards: Maintain exceptional levels of guest satisfaction through proactive engagement, attention to detail, and effective issue resolution.
Compliance & Procedures: Uphold all regulatory requirements, including health and safety, licensing, and food hygiene standards.
Administrative Duties: Contribute to staff scheduling, stock management, ordering, and basic financial reporting.
Shift Management: Take responsibility for leading shifts independently in the absence of the General Manager.We would expect the successful Assistant General Manager to be able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills, be an excellent communicator and have a friendly confident manner, with the ability to multi-task. You will be supported 1 to 1 to become familiar with the company processes and procedures. This would be an ideal role for you if you have worked within shift manager, assistant, deputy manager or a supervisor position.

Friday to Tuesday - Friday (split shift) 10.30am-3pm/6.30pm-finish, Saturday (spilt shift) 11am-3pm/6.30pm-finish, Sunday 2.30pm-10pm, Monday 10am-6.30pm, Tuesday 10am-6.30pm
