How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Job description

Apprenticeship Review Officer – Full Time – Temporary

Hertford Regional College | £21.44 per hour

Monday to Friday | 8:45am – 5:00pm
Start date: 5 October 2026 | Ongoing temporary contract

Herts Resourcing Group is recruiting for an Apprenticeship Review Officer on behalf of Hertford Regional College (HRC).

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong relationship-building and organisational skills who is passionate about supporting apprentices to succeed.

As an Apprenticeship Review Officer, you will play an important role in the learner journey, working closely with apprentices, employers, HRC and external delivery partners to ensure apprentices receive the support they need from enrolment right through to successful End Point Assessment (EPA).

About HRC

HRC is a vibrant and dynamic further education college, recently graded Good by Ofsted, with students studying across two campuses.

HRC puts people first – its students, staff, partner organisations and the local communities it serves. The college is committed to providing an environment in which learners can achieve their potential and staff can develop their skills and make a genuine difference.

About the Role

Working as part of the Apprenticeship Team, you will take responsibility for developing positive relationships with employers, apprentices and delivery partners while ensuring apprenticeship requirements and processes are effectively managed.

A key part of the position will be arranging and completing regular apprentice progress reviews, monitoring progress against training plans and agreed targets, and identifying any issues that could affect an apprentice's successful completion.

You will act as an important point of contact throughout the apprenticeship journey, helping employers and apprentices understand requirements and ensuring everyone remains informed and supported.

Experience of working with Apprentices would be highly advantageous but not essential, full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain effective relationships with apprentices, employers and apprenticeship delivery partners.

Act as a key point of contact between HRC, the apprentice, employer and delivery partner.

Participate in apprentice sign-up visits and help employers and apprentices understand the relevant Apprenticeship Standard and their responsibilities.

Process apprenticeship enrolment documentation and help ensure funding compliance.

Plan and arrange apprentice progress reviews every 8–10 weeks in line with training plans and assessment schedules.

Monitor apprentices' progress, agreed targets and off-the-job training.

Identify concerns or areas where additional support or action may be required.

Discuss and monitor areas including health and safety, safeguarding and Prevent as part of the review process.

Work with employers and delivery partners to update training plans and assessment schedules where required.

Gather and review the necessary apprenticeship documentation and help ensure funding compliance.

Schedule End Point Assessments and keep employers, apprentices and delivery partners informed throughout the process.

Maintain accurate records, documentation and reports.

About You

We are looking for an organised, confident and approachable individual who can build strong professional relationships with both employers and apprentices.

You will need to be an effective communicator who is comfortable working independently, managing a varied workload and keeping accurate records.

Essential Skills and Experience

Experience of building effective and productive relationships with employers.

Experience of working collaboratively with other organisations.

Strong communication skills, both face-to-face and through digital systems.

The ability to build confidence, respect and trust with apprentices and employers.

Good organisational skills and the ability to manage reviews, documentation and deadlines.

The ability to complete compliance and operational documentation

The ability to provide general pastoral support.

Knowledge and awareness of current working practices, including health and safety.

A minimum Level 2 qualification in Maths and English, or a commitment to achieve these qualifications within a specified period.

Important – Travel Requirements

This position requires significant local travel, as you will be meeting apprentices and employers within the workplace.

You must therefore hold a current UK driving licence and be a car owner with a vehicle available for business use.

Some flexibility may occasionally be required to meet the needs of the role, including attendance at College promotional activities and Open Events.

Hours, Pay & Contract

Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, 8:45am – 5:00pm
Pay: £21.44 per hour
Start date: 5 October 2026
Contract: Ongoing temporary contract

Interested?

If you have experience working with apprentices and employers and enjoy building relationships, monitoring progress and helping learners achieve their goals, we would love to hear from you.

Please apply today and/or contact Herts Resourcing Group for further information.

All applications will be considered upon receipt, and we reserve the right to close the vacancy early.

The successful candidate will be required to complete the Herts Resourcing Group compliance process, including appropriate identity and right-to-work checks, references, an Enhanced DBS check where required, and relevant mandatory training
