The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

With an annual turnover of approximately £100 million, the business has experienced sustained growth and continues to secure major residential developments across the region.
Due to continued expansion and a strong pipeline of secured projects, they are now seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their commercial team.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor with strong residential groundworks experience to join a growing and forward-thinking contractor. The successful candidate will oversee the commercial management of multiple projects, ensuring profitability, cost control, and contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead the commercial management of multiple residential groundworks projects
* Maximise contract profitability and monitor financial performance
* Prepare and agree quotations for variations and additional works
* Produce and review accurate monthly cost and value reports (CVRs)
* Monitor project costs, forecasts, and cash flow across multiple sites
* Manage subcontractor procurement, payments, and final accounts
* Work closely with operational teams and clients to resolve commercial matters
* Identify and implement value engineering opportunities
* Mentor and support junior commercial staff where required
* Maintain accurate commercial reporting and contractual documentation
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within residential groundworks
* Strong understanding of infrastructure, roads, drainage, and foundations packages
* Excellent commercial and contractual knowledge
* Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
* Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
* Experience in value engineering and cost control
* Proficient in Microsoft Office packages including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
