The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
Our client, a well-established freight forwarding and logistics company, is looking to recruit an experienced Customs Coordinator to join their busy operations team in Bolton.
This role would suit someone with a strong customs background, particularly within Irish and European freight movements, along with solid groupage experience. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring customs processes are completed accurately and efficiently within a fast-paced transport environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Completing customs entries for Irish and European shipments
* Managing customs documentation and compliance procedures
* Handling groupage freight operations
* Liaising with customers, hauliers, and customs authorities
* Ensuring all shipments are processed in line with customs regulations and deadlines
* Resolving customs and operational issues efficiently
* Maintaining accurate shipment and customs records
* Supporting the wider operations team where required
Requirements
* Previous experience within customs clearance and freight forwarding
* Strong knowledge of Irish and European customs procedures
* Groupage experience is essential
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
* Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills
* Must be able to drive and commute to the Bolton office
Working Hours
This is a fully office-based role working Monday to Friday on a rotating shift pattern:
* 10:00 – 18:00
* 11:00 – 19:00
