How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Construction Planner - Opportunity to make a difference and lead during a period of expansion for a company with a friendly, family culture.

Hybrid working out of our office in Bromborough, Wirral

North West based with site visits

Full-Time (Monday – Friday)

£50K-£55K per annum + package

Trustland Construction is an industry-leading commercial construction specialist based in the Wirral with over 50 years of experience. Working with several major blue-chip companies across the petrochemical, nuclear, food production and consumer goods industries, we are a fast-paced and growing team who value our staff and their development, whilst maintaining a friendly, family culture.

Our company vision is “to have inspired individuals working together as a dedicated team to deliver quality outcomes for our customers and our community.” At Trustland, we believe that finding the right fit goes beyond qualifications and experience. We are committed to identifying candidates who align with this vision, embody our company culture, and possess the necessary skills to excel in their roles.

Job Summary

We’re looking for an experienced Construction Planner to bring structure, consistency, and best practice to planning across our projects. This is a new role in the business, created to support our growth and improve programme quality across all live and upcoming schemes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring project programmes from pre-construction through to completion.

This is a key role within the business, working closely with Pre-Construction, Commercial, and Operational teams to ensure robust planning and successful project delivery.

This is an opportunity to shape and standardise the planning function within the business.

What you’ll do

* Develop tender programmes and phasing plans using Asta Powerproject

* Work closely with Pre-construction and construction teams to produce competitive and realistic project timelines

* Build logic‑linked, realistic programmes with clear sequencing and milestones

* Identify key project risks and opportunities during tender stage

* Assist in logistics planning and sequencing of works

* Prepare detailed construction programmes (including critical path analysis)

* Monitor and update project schedules throughout the project lifecycle

* Track progress against programme and identify potential delays

* Produce regular progress reports for internal and client review meetings

* Advise site teams on sequencing, resource allocation, and recovery strategies

* Support the preparation of extension of time (EOT) claims where required

* Introduce and maintain consistent planning processes, templates and reporting

* Liaise with Project Managers, Site Managers, Subcontractors, and Clients

* Attend site progress meetings and planning workshops

* Ensure subcontractor programmes align with the master schedule

What you’ll bring

* Proven experience as a Planner within a construction or engineering contractor environment

* Sound knowledge of construction sequencing and methodology

* Ability to plan construction projects from first principles

* Proficiency in planning software (e.g., Asta Powerproject, Microsoft Project)

* Experience working on projects typically valued between £2m–£10m

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

* Excellent communication and reporting abilities

* Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

* Experience in NEC and JCT forms of contract

* Construction-related qualification (HNC/HND/Degree)

* Membership of a professional body (e.g. CIOB) (or prepared to work towards)

The ideal candidate brings a structured, methodical way of working and approaches challenges with a proactive, solution‑driven mindset. They demonstrate strong commercial awareness and are comfortable operating both independently and within a collaborative team environment. Confidence in engaging with stakeholders at all levels is essential, as is the ability to remain calm under pressure while maintaining excellent time‑management skills.

Why Join Us?

At Trustland Construction, we offer more than just a job opportunity—we provide a supportive and inclusive environment for our staff to thrive both personally and professionally.

We are an equal opportunities employer and believe that diversity drives innovation. We welcome applications from individuals of all races, ethnicities, genders, abilities, and orientations.

Our value proposition encompasses the following:

Family-friendly culture: We prioritise work-life balance and understand the importance of accommodating personal responsibilities outside the workplace. Our maternity, paternity, adoption, and shared parental leave policies demonstrate our commitment to supporting employees through life’s milestones. We also bring everyone together with our annual Trustland-funded 'Family Fun Day,' and wellbeing events held throughout the year

Sustainable forward-thinking business: We prioritise sustainability. Our purpose-built head office includes solar panels, EV car chargers, heat recovery ventilation units, and even a vegetable patch complete with a bug hotel, to name just a few sustainable features. We’re committed to reducing our environmental footprint and creating a greener future. Employees can also take advantage of our salary sacrifice schemes for cycle and electric vehicle purchases, making sustainable travel more affordable and accessible

Health & wellbeing: The mental and physical health of our employees is paramount. We’re proud supporters of the mental health charity Mates in Mind, and with trained mental health first aiders/wellbeing champions, access to confidential mental health services and an on-site gym at our head office, we prioritise overall wellbeing. Our dedicated occupational health provider also ensures that the health of our site-based operatives is always a top priority, with access to expert advice and support

Empowerment & career development: Employees are part of a team where micromanagement is not the norm. We believe in empowering our staff to make meaningful contributions and decisions. We’re committed to helping our staff reach their full potential. With quarterly job chats and annual performance reviews, everyone has the opportunity to play a part in creating their own personal development plan

Charitable giving: Through our Workplace Giving Scheme, employees can maximise their charitable contributions, with donations boosted by up to 45%. Whether it’s supporting our current charity partner or a cause close to their heart, we encourage giving back to the community and support staff who want to participate in volunteering days

Recognition: From employee of the month and employee of the year awards, to quarterly job chats and annual performance reviews, we value and recognise staff achievements
