Key Responsibilities
Team leadership - Manage and oversee day‑to‑day activities across Payroll, Pensions and Benefits, ensuring accurate and timely processing in line with UK legislation.
Workload management - Review team effectiveness, ensure SLAs/KPIs are met, and lead ad‑hoc/project work aligned to customer expectations.
Process improvement - Review, implement and maintain efficient procedures, driving continuous improvement across payroll operations.
Subject matter expertise - Act as the expert in your activity area, coaching and guiding colleagues across wider teams.
Service excellence - Ensure all activity is completed in line with statutory requirements and Equans processes.
Audit coordination - Lead monthly audit activity and ensure timely sign‑off.
Process mapping - Lead transformation sessions and implement improvements with the Payroll Manager and HR Operations.
Documentation ownership - Maintain accurate, fit‑for‑purpose process documentation incorporating stakeholder feedback.
Coaching & development - Motivate, lead and coach the team, providing feedback, development support and hands‑on guidance when required.
Stakeholder engagement - Build strong relationships across Business Services, HR, IT, Finance and Operational teams
Desirable Skills & Attributes
Previous team leadership or supervisory experience
Strong understanding of pension regulations and reporting
Strong understanding of GDPR
Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
SAP experience (desirable)
