The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
A Buckinghamshire-based Multi-Academy Trust is seeking an Interim Finance Manager to provide hands-on support across core finance operations and reporting for an initial 3-month assignment. This is a great opportunity for an experienced school/MAT finance professional to step into a fast-paced environment, bring stability, and help keep the finance function running smoothly.
The assignment
You’ll work closely with the Trust’s senior leadership and finance team to ensure robust day-to-day finance delivery, accurate reporting, and strong financial controls across the MAT.
Key responsibilities
Oversee and support day-to-day finance operations (purchase ledger, sales ledger, banking, reconciliations)
Manage month-end processes and production of timely management information
Support budget monitoring, forecasting and variance analysis across schools
Ensure compliance with MAT financial procedures and internal controls
Liaise with internal stakeholders (school business leaders, headteachers, central teams) to resolve finance queries
Support preparation for audit and any reporting requirements (as needed)
Help identify process improvements and implement practical fixes quickly
Essential experience
Proven Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) finance experience (essential)
Strong understanding of education finance processes and reporting requirements
Confident producing management information and working to deadlines
Ability to quickly assess priorities, pick up existing systems/processes, and operate with minimal supervision
Desirable
Access system experience (highly desirable)
Immediately available (or short notice)
