Electronics Hardware Specialist
Location: Nottingham
Salary: £35,000 – £48,000 (DOE)
About the Role
We’re seeking a hands-on, customer-focused Hardware Support Engineer to act as the technical expert for the customers and field teams. You’ll take ownership of complex hardware issues, lead technical onboarding, and ensure field engineers have the knowledge to achieve first-time fixes. This role requires developing deep expertise across hardware and software products.
Key Responsibilities
- Own support tickets end-to-end, from triage to resolution.
- Provide expert technical support via phone, email, and remote diagnostics.
- Act as the escalation point for complex technical issues.
- Deliver customer onboarding and technical training.
- Create and maintain troubleshooting guides and knowledge base documentation.
- Conduct hands-on testing and fault replication to identify root causes.
- Travel to customer sites when required.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in a technical hardware role (electronics, telecoms, CCTV, networking or similar).
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Confident communicator with excellent written documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities.
- Relevant degree or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to Have
- Experience with AI edge devices (GPU/NPU platforms), IP CCTV, VMS, 4G/5G routers, or telematics hardware.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems and support KPIs.
