The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Tradewind Education is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of General Science to join a welcoming and ambitious secondary academy in Barnsley on a temporary basis, starting in mid-September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Science teacher to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging lessons that promote curiosity, critical thinking, and academic achievement.

Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing constructive feedback to support achievement.
Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities and educational needs.
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes excellent behaviour and engagement.
Support students in achieving their academic potential and developing a passion for Science.
Contribute to departmental initiatives and uphold the academy's policies and procedures.
Attend relevant meetings, training, and professional development activities as required.
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Experience teaching General Science within a secondary school setting.
Strong subject knowledge across the Science curriculum at Key Stages 3 and 4.
Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
