Groundworks Site Manager

Location: Exeter, Devon
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

We are currently seeking an experienced Groundworks Site Manager to join a busy and established construction team working on projects across Exeter and the surrounding Devon area.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Site Manager with a strong background in groundworks, civil engineering and infrastructure projects.

The Role

As Groundworks Site Manager, you will be responsible for the successful day-to-day management of groundworks activities on site, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and to the required quality standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

Managing and supervising groundworks operations on site

*

Coordinating subcontractors, site operatives and plant

*

Planning daily workloads and allocating resources effectively

*

Ensuring works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and programmes

*

Monitoring site progress and reporting to the Project Manager

*

Maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance

*

Carrying out site inductions, briefings and toolbox talks

*

Liaising with clients, engineers, subcontractors and other site personnel

*

Monitoring quality and ensuring works meet required standards

*

Managing materials, plant and deliveries

*

Identifying and resolving site issues quickly and effectively

*

Maintaining accurate site records and documentation

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

Proven experience as a Groundworks Site Manager, Site Supervisor or similar

*

Strong knowledge of groundworks and civil engineering

*

Experience managing site teams and subcontractors

*

A good understanding of construction health & safety requirements

*

The ability to read and interpret construction drawings

*

Excellent organisational and communication skills

*

A proactive, practical approach to site management

*

A strong commitment to delivering high-quality work

Relevant SMSTS, SSSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications are desirable.
