Job Purpose
At Coed y Ddraig, we’re creating opportunities for people to learn, develop skills, build confidence and play an active role in their local community.
We’re looking for a Café Co-ordinator to join our team in Mold and help bring our community café to life.
This is a varied role that combines hospitality, horticulture, vocational learning and person-centred support. You’ll help people with learning disabilities and/or autism develop practical skills and confidence in a real working environment, while also playing a hands-on role in running our café.
Responsible for
Key Accountabilities
* Run the café day-to-day, providing a welcoming, inclusive and high-quality experience for customers.
* Prepare and serve drinks, light meals and refreshments, including barista-style beverages, and manage tills, stock and café displays.
* Support opening and closing procedures and maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, allergen management and health & safety.
* Support people to develop catering, hospitality, customer service and transferable workplace skills through meaningful, hands-on experience.
* Create learning and development opportunities that build confidence, independence and practical skills, based on individual goals and aspirations.
* Support the field-to-fork approach by helping people harvest and prepare produce grown on site and take part in sustainable horticultural activities.
* Work with supported employment teams, families and community partners to create pathways into volunteering, training and paid employment.
* Build positive relationships with customers and the wider community, support events and enterprise activities, and ensure any risks, incidents or safeguarding concerns are appropriately reported.

* To support and empower people to achieve their goals and ambitions in line with their Vocational Profiles.
* Work closely with colleagues including the Employability Coach to offer outcome based support.
Other
* Adhere to and maintain Hft’s Health and Safety policies, standards and guidelines at all times
* Carry out a range of duties and undertake any other duties as specified from time to time in accordance with Hft business requirements
* It is the nature of the work that task responsibilities are in many circumstances unpredictable and varied. All employees are therefore expected to work in a flexible way when the occasion arises in order that tasks which are not specifically covered in their job description are covered
Professional & Technical Expertise
* Basic food hygiene qualification and equivalent vocational qualification
Location: Coed y Ddraig, Mold, Flintshire
Hours: 30 hours per week, part-time
Working pattern: Initially Tuesday–Friday, 9am–3.30pm, with flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends in line with service needs
