The role forms part of the Production Management team and reports to the Site Operations Manager.
With overall responsibility of several production areas and a shift team of 2 direct reports and c18 reports the position has a focus on coaching, continuous improvement and applying change.
This is a shift-based opportunity on double days, weekly rotating Monday to Friday 6am to 2pm/2pm to 10pm.
The key day to day activities for the role include:
* Organise the resource in your department appropriately against the demands of the business.
* Manage and develop employees through technical coaching, behavioural guidance, leadership and empowerment.
* Work closely with the Production Planning team to ensure that Customer Orders are produced
* Leading by example to ensure that site standards for EHS, Quality & GMP are Maintained at all times.
* Report equipment failures / Issues to ensure they are fit for purpose and don’t present a risk
* Contribute and lead CI activities & use problem solving processes to resolve issues in all factory areas.
* Provides support to other Shift teams during planned Manager holidays and absence.
The position involves daily collaboration with the other Shift team, Quality, Engineering and HR so excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential. Previous experience managing a production operation on shift is also essential, ideally gained in a high volume manufacturing or continuous process environment.
Experience of driving a culture of Continuous Improvement (Lean, Six Sigma, WCM, 5S) in a manufacturing setting is also key to this role as would a formal H&S qualification (IOSH).
