Elmtree Learning Partnership is seeking an exceptional and dedicated Deputy Site Lead to join our growing Alternative Provision for secondary-aged learners. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced education professional who is passionate about supporting vulnerable young people to re-engage with education and achieve positive outcomes.
Working closely with the Site Lead, you will play a key role in the strategic and operational leadership of the provision, ensuring students receive high-quality educational and pastoral support in a safe, nurturing, and aspirational environment.
About the Role
The Deputy Site Lead will support the effective day-to-day running of the provision and contribute to the development of high-quality educational experiences for all learners. Key responsibilities include:
Supporting the referral and induction process for new students.
Coordinating and contributing to Annual Reviews and ongoing reviews of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Supporting the development, implementation and monitoring of individual learning plans and personalised targets.
Acting as the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) and supporting all safeguarding and child protection processes.
Monitoring and maintaining site compliance, health and safety requirements, and statutory responsibilities.
Leading and supporting the completion and review of student and site risk assessments.
Supporting curriculum development to ensure provision meets the diverse needs of learners.
Providing guidance, coaching and day-to-day support to staff.
Monitoring student progress, attendance, behaviour and engagement, ensuring effective interventions are implemented.
Building positive relationships with families, schools, local authorities and external agencies.
Deputising for the Site Lead when required.
The Successful Candidate Will Have
Previous experience in a higher-level education support role, pastoral leadership role, or similar leadership position within education.
Experience as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) or a strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and a willingness to undertake further training.
Experience of working with secondary-aged young people, particularly those with SEND, SEMH needs, or those educated within alternative provision.
Knowledge and experience of EHCP processes, Annual Reviews, and multi-agency working.
A strong understanding of behaviour support, inclusion, and trauma-informed practice.
Experience of supporting curriculum delivery and educational planning.
Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to remain calm, resilient and solution-focused in challenging situations.
