The college is looking to appoint a part-time English Lecturer on a long-term basis, working 26 hours per week from September. The successful English Lecturer will deliver engaging English lessons to students with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and other learning differences, adapting lessons to meet individual learning plans while promoting confidence and independence.
The successful English Lecturer will have:
• A PGCE or recognised teaching qualification, or significant industry experience within Further Education
• Experience teaching English Language and/or English Literature, ideally up to A-Level or Functional Skills within an FE or SEND environment
• Experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including adapting lessons to meet individual learning needs
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues
• A patient, nurturing and flexible approach to teaching
