The Role
As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance and repair of a varied commercial vehicle fleet.
Your duties will include:
Carrying out routine servicing and preventative maintenance
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults
Completing inspections and defect rectification
Carrying out brake, suspension, steering and drivetrain repairs
Using diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle faults
Preparing vehicles for MOT
Completing maintenance documentation accurately
Ensuring all work is completed to DVSA and company standards
Working safely and efficiently within the workshop
Supporting other members of the engineering team when required
About You
We are looking for candidates who have:
Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent
Previous experience working as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician
Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
Experience working on commercial vehicles
Good understanding of vehicle inspection and maintenance requirements
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Full UK driving licence
An HGV licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
