Our client is a successful tech scaleup, a cash‑generative SME currently at c.£10m turnover and c.80 staff, looking to double in size in the next five years under the guidance of its experienced, highly charismatic and driven owner, supported by a first‑class senior leadership team, including a highly committed and experienced CFO. Growth means we are looking to strengthen the company’s Finance department by appointing a new Management Accounts Assistant.

As Management Accounts Assistant, based at the company's Gateshead headquarters, you’ll assist the company’s Management Accountant in carrying out day-to-day activities of the Finance department, also working closely with the CFO and Financial Controller. Your responsibilities as Management Accounts Assistant will include:

• Balance sheet reconciliations including Bank, Supplier and Stock

• Invoice approvals and processing

• Calculating accruals and prepayments

• Maintaining the fixed asset register

• Posting journal entries

• Tracking costs, analysing variances, allocating overheads

• Reporting on waste

• Assisting with cash flow forecasting and budgeting

• Supporting liaison with external with external parties such as HMRC, Auditors, banks and authorities

As Management Accounts Assistant you’ll need:

• Strong varied accounting experience, ideally gained in an Accounts Assistant, Assistant Accountant, Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable role, preferably including fast-moving, growing, SME exposure
• Manufacturing and service sector experience beneficial

• Qualified to AAT L4 or equivalent – we will consider qualified by experience

• A proactive, diligent and flexible approach

• Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational, interpersonal, presentation and communication skills

• Competent in the use of Xero, Sage or similar – and Excel – with related office and accounting technologies

Rewards and Benefits:

• Basic salary between £30,000 and £35,000 (plus benefits)
