Internal Sales Administrator

Salary: £29,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm
Location: Office based

Are you an organised, proactive administrator who enjoys speaking with customers and taking ownership of your workload?

We are recruiting for an Internal Sales Administrator to join a well-established business located in Welwyn Garden City.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role and wants to develop their commercial and technical knowledge. You will work closely with the Company Director, supporting with quotations, pricing, customer follow ups, purchasing and general sales administration.

Full training will be provided. What is important is that you are confident, commercially minded, organised and comfortable communicating with customers.

The Role

A key part of your role will be supporting the preparation and management of customer quotations.

As your knowledge develops, you will become involved in more detailed quotations, reviewing customer requirements and helping to establish the equipment and work required.

You will also take ownership of following up quotations, speaking with customers, keeping opportunities moving and ensuring outstanding enquiries do not get missed.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing accurate and professional customer quotations

• Supporting the Director with pricing and managing quotation requests

• Following up outstanding quotations by telephone and email

• Building strong relationships with customers and maintaining regular communication

• Managing quotation trackers and keeping records accurate and up to date

• Liaising with suppliers to obtain pricing, availability and lead times

• Negotiating and discussing pricing adjustments with customers where appropriate

• Supporting with credit control and professionally following up outstanding payments

• Ordering stock, materials and equipment required for customer jobs

• Monitoring orders and liaising with suppliers regarding deliveries

• Occasionally attending customer sites to gain a better understanding of requirements and the products and systems used

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who is naturally proactive and enjoys taking ownership rather than waiting to be given their next task.

You will ideally have previous experience within sales administration, quotations, estimating, internal sales, customer service or a similar commercially focused administration role.

You will need:

• Strong administration and organisational skills

• Confidence speaking with customers over the telephone

• Excellent attention to detail

• Good numerical skills and confidence working with pricing

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills

• The ability to prioritise and manage your own workload

• A proactive approach to following up customers and outstanding quotations

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• A professional and customer focused approach
