The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise pre-planned lessons during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged, focused, and on task. You will play a vital role in maintaining a positive learning environment while supporting schools across the Barnsley area.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver pre-set lesson plans across a range of secondary subjects.
Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
Ensure students remain engaged and complete the work set.
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
Report back to teaching staff on student progress, behaviour, and lesson outcomes.
Adapt confidently to different school environments and year groups.
Requirements
Experience working with secondary-aged students is desirable.
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
Confidence leading a classroom independently.
A flexible, professional, and positive attitude.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
Right to work in the UK.
Ability to travel to schools across the Barnsley area.
