Role Overview
The Finance Director is responsible for overseeing the financial strategy, planning, and management of the organisation. This role ensures strong financial governance, supports business growth, and provides strategic guidance to senior leadership. The Finance Director leads budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and compliance while managing financial risks and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the organisation’s financial strategy and long-term planning
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling
Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards
Manage cash flow, investments, and capital allocation
Provide strategic financial insights to senior leadership
Monitor business performance and recommend improvements
Oversee audit processes and liaise with external auditors
Implement financial controls and risk management frameworks
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team
Support commercial decision-making and business growth initiatives
Manage relationships with banks, investors, and stakeholders
Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
Professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA)
Significant senior-level finance experience
Strong knowledge of financial planning and analysis
Experience managing budgets and forecasting
Excellent leadership and team management skills
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
Strategic thinking with commercial awareness
Advanced Excel and financial systems knowledge
Preferred Experience
Experience in Construction is Desirable
Experience leading financial transformation projects
Exposure to mergers, acquisitions, or fundraising
Knowledge of ERP systems
