How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Pay: £42,000 per year basic salary

    Overtime opportunities are always available

Riviera Electrical Limited are looking for a qualified and experienced EV Installation Engineer to join our growing team across Devon and the South West.

Due to continued growth and increasing demand for electric vehicle charging infrastructure, we are looking for a skilled, motivated and customer-focused engineer who can deliver high-quality EV charge point installations while maintaining the professional standards our customers expect from Riviera Electrical.

We are offering a full-time employed position with a basic salary of £42,000 per year, together with regular opportunities for overtime. We are also interested in hearing from experienced self-employed engineers and subcontractors who may be available to support our growing workload.

    About the Role

As an EV Installation Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, testing and maintenance of electric vehicle charging equipment at domestic and commercial properties throughout Devon and the South West.

You will represent Riviera Electrical on site and will be expected to deliver neat, safe and professional installations while providing excellent customer service.

The role will include carrying out site assessments, selecting suitable charge point locations and cable routes, installing cabling, containment, protective devices and associated electrical equipment, commissioning EV charge points and completing all required electrical testing and certification.

You will also be responsible for diagnosing faults, carrying out remedial works where required and ensuring every installation complies with BS 7671 Wiring Regulations, manufacturer requirements and current health and safety standards.

Following installation, you will provide customers with a clear handover and demonstration of their new EV charging equipment, ensuring they understand the basic operation of the charger and associated app where applicable.

    Experience and Qualifications

Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and a current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.

Previous experience carrying out EV charge point installations is required, together with good electrical installation knowledge, strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities and the confidence to work independently.

Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential, as you will be working directly with customers in their homes and businesses and representing Riviera Electrical on a daily basis.

An EV Charging Qualification such as City & Guilds 2919 or equivalent would be preferred, along with an Inspection and Testing qualification such as City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent.

An ECS Gold Card would also be advantageous.

Experience installing and commissioning manufacturers such as Ohme, Hypervolt, Zappi and Easee would be particularly beneficial.

    What We Offer

The employed position offers a £42,000 basic annual salary with additional overtime opportunities regularly available.

You will receive a company van for work use, a company credit card, company pension, uniform and PPE.

We also provide private healthcare, including optical and dental cover.

The standard working week is 42 hours, with additional overtime available for engineers who wish to increase their earnings.

Riviera Electrical is continuing to grow within the EV and renewable energy sector, providing opportunities for ongoing training and development as new products and technologies enter the market.
