My client is a rapidly expanding engineering consultancy specialising in bridge inspections, testing and specialist investigations. They operate across highways, rail, water, energy, commercial and residential sectors, supporting a wide range of clients including contractors, local authorities, asset managers and major organisations.

The role and responsibilities
As a Bridge Inspector, you will be responsible for delivering a range of inspection and testing services across the UK. You will be doing:
·Carrying out Safety, General, Principal, Special and Assessment Inspections
·Undertaking visual inspections, drone surveys and hands-on structural assessments
·Using specialist techniques such as hammer tap surveys, corrosion testing and defect analysis
·Applying non-destructive testing and structural monitoring methods
·Supporting investigations on reinforced and post-tensioned structures (training provided if required)
·Reviewing technical data against structural capacity assessments
·Producing detailed inspection reports and asset management data
You will also be involved in:
·Planning and managing inspection programmes
·Organising traffic management, permits and site access
·Liaising with clients, stakeholders and subcontractors
The role will include working at height, in confined spaces, over water and using specialist access equipment such as MEWPs, rope access and pontoons.
Must have skills and experience
To be successful in this Bridge Inspector role, you will have:
·A recognised qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering (e.g. HNC/HND)
·Experience in bridge inspection and testing
·Experience producing technical reports and site documentation
·Knowledge of CS 450 and Inspection Manual for Highways Structures
·LANTRA BICS certification or willingness to achieve it
·A full, clean UK driving licence
Desirable skills
It would be beneficial if you have:
·Experience with CS 462 investigations
·Familiarity with software such as SMIS, Agile or Bridge Station
·PTS (rail), IPAF, PASMA or rope access certification
·Confined space training
·CSCS card and First Aid qualification

Additional information
