What you will do:
- Manage and coordinate the Permanency and Fostering Panel, ensuring continuous improvement through management, training, and development of the panel chair and members.
- Analyze and report on trends and outcomes for children, young people, and their carers to influence positive changes in permanency practice.
- Identify and implement strategic changes to policy and practice, collaborating with Senior Managers to address areas of excellence and shortfall in service delivery.
- Establish systems for direct audit processes and data analysis, using insights to support practice and service development.
- Provide support, training, and advice to social work staff and panel members, maintaining high standards in permanence planning across Children's Social Care.
- Coordinate and attend Permanency Panel, Permanency Planning Meetings, and case tracking meetings, offering expert advice to achieve the best outcomes for children.
- Oversee quality assurance of paperwork presented to the Fostering and Permanency Panel and ensure the timely implementation of decisions by the Agency Decision Maker.
- Contribute to the training of the fostering panel chair and members, ensuring efficient panel functioning and high-quality records.
- Attend Permanence Planning Meetings for Children in Care, championing the development of permanence plans.
- Drive the development of new strategies to embed effective permanency planning and provide progress reports to Senior Management.
Requirements of this Panel Advisor role:
- A Social Work Qualification or equivalent is essential.
- An understanding of relevant legislation, with eligibility for registration.
- Experience, preferably in a management capacity, working within children's services or policy development.
