A specialist SEN provision in Sheffield is seeking a highly experienced Primary Teacher with a strong background in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This is a rewarding opportunity to join a supportive and dedicated team, working with pupils who require a highly tailored, nurturing and structured learning environment.
The successful candidate will be confident delivering differentiated primary curriculum content and have proven experience supporting children with a range of additional needs, including ASD, SEMH, and complex learning difficulties.
You will be joining a setting that values creativity, patience, resilience, and a trauma-informed approach to teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual EHCP targets
Work closely with support staff, therapists, and SENCOs to deliver holistic support
Implement behaviour support strategies and personalised learning plans
Track progress and contribute to detailed assessments and reviews
Foster a safe, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment
Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and external agencies
Candidate Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Extensive experience working within SEN or specialist settings (essential)
Strong understanding of ASD, SEMH, and complex learning needs
Proven ability to adapt teaching to meet a wide range of abilities
Excellent behaviour management skills rooted in positive relationships
A calm, resilient and compassionate approach
Recruitment Timeline
Interviews to be held before the end of May 2026
Successful candidates will be offered a placement ahead of September 2026 start
Initial period will be via payroll through Tradewind Recruitment before transitioning to a permanent school contract following a successful trial period
