Assistant Housekeeping Manager (32-38 hours per week)

For Amrâth Grand Hotel Frans Hals, we are looking for an Assistant Housekeeping Manager for 32 to 38 hours per week.

Training and coaching the Housekeeping team

• Onboarding, coaching, and guiding new and existing team members (including room attendants and linen room staff).

• Actively training the team on cleaning techniques, efficiency, ergonomics, hospitality, and the hotel's specific quality standards.

• Fostering a positive, motivated work environment on the shop floor.

Scheduling and daily planning

• Creating efficient and balanced work schedules, taking into account expected occupancy rates, budgets, and CAO guidelines.

• Ensuring clear daily room assignments and task distributions based on the number of departing and staying guests.

• Managing and processing leave requests and handling sudden absences (such as illness).

Quality control (rooms and public areas)

• Conducting daily inspections of prepared hotel rooms, suites, and public areas (lobby, hallways, public restrooms) for cleanliness, neatness, and overall appearance.

• Ensuring every detail aligns with hotel standards, from crisp bed-making to spotless bathrooms.

• Providing direct feedback to staff members to continuously maintain and elevate quality standards.

Inventory management and ordering

• Managing inventory levels for linen, guest amenities, and cleaning and maintenance supplies.

• Placing timely orders with suppliers and ensuring cost-conscious resource utilization.

• Checking delivered goods and maintaining a neat, organized storage/linen room.

Operational leadership and coordination

• Leading daily briefings to discuss goals, key focus areas, and daily priorities.

• Coordinating priority tasks (such as early check-ins or VIP rooms) and monitoring progress throughout the day.

• Maintaining continuous communication with the Front Office regarding room statuses and special guest requests.

Hands-on support

• Rolling up your sleeves and helping with cleaning duties during peak hours, staffing shortages, or major turnarounds.

• Setting an example on the floor by demonstrating both top speed and top quality.

Technical maintenance and safety

• Checking technical facilities and amenities in rooms and public areas (such as lighting, air conditioning, TVs, and plumbing).

• Promptly identifying and recording defects, damage, or wear and tear, reporting them directly to the Maintenance Department.

• Overseeing compliance with applicable safety, health (OSHA/Arbo), and hygiene regulations on the floor.

• You have experience in housekeeping and leading a team;

• You are computer literate / proficient in using computers;

• You are fluent in English and/or Dutch (Dutch is a plus);

• You have a sharp eye for detail and a guest-oriented mindset;

• You possess strong interpersonal and communication skills; and

• You are able to work both independently and as part of a team.
