Full‑time / Part‑time – Utrecht, The Netherlands. Lab Digital is looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer passionate about crafting seamless, high‑performance digital products using React and Next.js for e‑commerce, content, and middleware solutions.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain web applications with React and Next.js, focusing on performance and user experience.
- Design and implement component libraries in collaboration with UX and design teams, ensuring high web vitals and Lighthouse scores.
- Document components with Storybook and promote code reusability.
- Participate in agile sprint cycles (2‑3 week sprints) delivering quality software with cross‑functional teams.
- Mentor teammates and provide constructive feedback.
- Engage in multiple projects across teams, driving innovation and collaboration.
- Minimum 4 years of production‑level experience in JavaScript/TypeScript, especially React.
- Strong background in front‑end development for e‑commerce domains.
- Experience with styling solutions (Styled Components, Emotion, CSS Modules, SCSS).
- Solid foundation in modern software practices (unit/integration testing, CI/CD pipelines).
- Familiarity with server‑side rendering frameworks such as Next.js, Gatsby, Remix.run.
- Knowledge of build tools (Webpack, ESBuild, Vite, SWC).
- Mentoring or supporting junior developers and contributing to a productive team environment.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Must be based in The Netherlands.
- Bonus: Experience with GraphQL, Apollo Client, URQL; cloud (AWS/Azure) and Terraform; animation frameworks (Framer Motion, GSAP).
- Senior starting salary €4,500–€5,800 per month, increasing with experience.
