We are looking for an Operations Manager for our contract logistics operations in Zaandam. The site stores and distributes car parts for 14 different car brands including premium brands. The inventory consists of bolts, engines, tires, body shop parts and much more. Our daily and long‑term goal is to store these items in the best way we can and ensure they are delivered within the agreed time frames with our customers. For us it is important that we always deliver on time, deliver the highest quality and have satisfied employees.
As an Operations Manager you ensure that both internal and external customer KPI expectations are met or exceeded. You will be responsible for overseeing the logistics and distribution processes for our customers Stellantis & You and Distrigo. You distribute, coordinate and monitor the daily and weekly activities of your team by adapting the human and material resources for optimal productivity and profitability, while ensuring service, quality and health & safety standards.
You will work closely together with colleagues from our two other sites in Hoogeveen and Waalwijk. In the position of Operations Manager, you report directly to the Site Manager, who is responsible for all three sites in Waalwijk, Hoogeveen and Zaandam.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?- Plan and manage supervisory staff ensuring maximum efficiency and flexibility to respond to operational needs of the customers.
- Review customer service levels with the Site Manager against SLAs/KPIs.
- Ensure that KPIs are maintained and actively incorporated into the business activity.
- Agree, monitor and recommend changes to current operational processes.
- Support the Site Manager in maintaining close relationships with designated customers.
- Establish clear and precise instructions to perform operations and set individual targets, then appraise each individual accordingly to set goals, and manage performance and conduct matters.
- Apply and enforce Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental regulations on a day‑to‑day basis.
- Coach and mentor appropriate team members to ensure continuous improvement, transferring expertise and solving discrepancies when required. Understand employees’ strengths and areas for improvement.

- Completed a bachelor's degree.
- At least 3 years of successful managerial experience in a logistics environment.
- Demonstrated experience in coaching and developing leaders.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Fluent proficiency in both Dutch and English.
- A competitive salary ranging from €4.158,68 to €5.730,58 gross per month (depending on qualifications and experience).
- A one‑year contract with the possibility of a permanent position.
- 25 vacation days, 5 ADV (Additional Decentralised Vacation) days, and the option to buy or sell extra leave.
