Head of Employee Communications
Role OverviewAs the Global Head of Employee Communications, you will be the architect of Randstad’s internal narrative. You will serve as a high-impact partner to the Executive Leadership Team, translating complex business strategies into human-centric stories, leading an agile team to drive sentiment and culture during a period of global transformation, and ensuring thePartner for Talentstrategy is felt and understood by every employee.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic leadership & agenda setting
- Communications Strategy & Agility: Own the development and implementation of the global all‑employee communications strategy; drive an agile framework that allows the organization to pivot messaging rapidly in response to market shifts or internal transformations.
- Operational Direction: Set priorities, sequencing, and cadence for global communications, exercising clear decision‑making authority on what, when, and how the organization communicates to ensure a unified voice.
- Equipping the Business: Ensure leaders and middle managers understand the company strategy and priorities, their role in delivering outcomes, and what success looks like.
- Evaluate and Innovate: Reshape communication policies and strategies to adapt to industry trends, championing innovative technologies and AI‑driven tools to enhance global engagement.
- C‑Suite Advisory & Diplomacy: Act as a trusted advisor to senior executives, helping them communicate with empathy, clarity, and credibility, and navigate a complex global matrix to build consensus and trust among diverse stakeholders.
- Transformation Narrative: Lead the co‑curation of narratives for key business stories; go beyond message delivery to support how change is experienced, building trust, reducing uncertainty, and helping employees make sense of organizational shifts.
- Simplifying Complexity: Ensure messaging helps employees understand how their work connects to company goals, intentionally simplifying complex business drivers into human‑centric, accessible stories.
- Change, Culture & Engagement
- Accelerate change adoption: Design high‑impact communications strategies that increase the adoption rate of change programs.
- EVP & Engagement: Champion the strategic direction of the Employee Value Proposition (EVP); contribute to building trust and engagement with clear, transparent, and two‑way communication.
- Bring values to life: Proactively drive ED&I and Sustainability programs (e.g., International Women’s Day, Pride, Sustainability Week) in collaboration with Business Resource Groups.
- Two‑Way Dialogue: Partner with HR to create meaningful opportunities for listening and feedback, ensuring that global insights are reflected back into the communication strategy.
- Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Coaching & Growth: Lead, coach, and develop a team of specialists through clear goal setting, frequent feedback, and ongoing coaching.
- Strategic Focus & Results Orientation: Create focus and clarity for the global communications community, driving professional development to ensure teams are equipped to meet strategic goals.
- Crisis Management & Resilience
- Strategic Stability: Support leaders through periods of volatility, utilizing real‑time communication channels to stabilize the workforce and protect morale.
- Rapid Recovery: Partner with the executive team to ensure business continuity by delivering transparent messaging that mitigates uncertainty and shortens the organizational recovery timeline.
- Education: Master’s level degree in Communications, HR, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 15+ years of relevant communications experience, including significant time leading teams within a multinational environment.
- Proven Management: Demonstrated track record of managing and leading a business or functional area within an organizational segment.
- Communication Mastery: Native‑level English with the ability to develop complex plans for M&A, organizational restructures, and high‑level events.
- Collaborative and Coaching Mindset: Expert in stakeholder management, influence, and negotiation with the ability to bring diverse teams together.
