Vacancy: International Key Account Manager (EN)

At Mepal, we make products that are used every day at school, at work, or on the go. We develop and supply lunchboxes, drinking cups, and storage containers. Within our Export Sales Team, we focus on key retail accounts with multiple national and international locations that offer complete Mepal concepts and product ranges. From display campaigns to dedicated shelf space filled with storage solutions, on-the-go products, and complete lunch solutions for all ages.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, entrepreneurial International Key Account Manager who will focus on major retail and supermarket chains in Europe and beyond.

We design, develop, and sell handy storage containers, indestructible lunchboxes, guaranteed leak-proof water bottles, and perfectly insulated thermos mugs. About the Role
As Key Account Manager on the Export team, you will take on your own responsibilities right from the start. You will build your own client relationships, actively contribute ideas for solutions, and manage relationships with existing international key accounts. You will ensure you are meeting with the right decision makers. You will clearly identify their wishes and needs and translate them into a concrete plan. At the same time, you will generate new business by introducing new products that we introduce every year. Together with experienced colleagues on the Export Team, you will ensure that every order runs smoothly—from initial contact to delivery—while always keeping the positioning of the Mepal brand front and center. You will do this from your base in Lochem and by visiting international accounts.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Expanding the customer base of international key accounts
  • Identifying customer needs and opportunities
  • Independently managing new and existing accounts
  • Drafting contracts, negotiating commercial terms, and coordinating shelf plans
  • Coordinating orders and monitoring delivery times
  • Contributing ideas for process improvements and commercial initiatives
  • Maintaining client and order information in our system

What do we expect from you?
You have a commercial drive. You spot opportunities, actively hunts for new business, and don’t let go until the deal is closed. With your curiosity and energy, you easily connect with various clients and seamlessly coordinate across departments to achieve results. You have strong analytical skills, think in terms of solutions, and quickly grasp new information. You are flexible and willing to travel, with the goal of closing the best deals for Mepal.

What you have to offer:

  • A completed Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a commercial or business‑oriented discipline
  • Several years of work experience in a customer‑focused or business‑related role
  • Proficiency in English. Knowledge of Dutch, German, Spanish, or French is a plus
  • You are a strategic thinker, analytically strong, and skilled at negotiation.
  • You work in a structured manner and switch easily between different tasks
  • You actively contribute to the further development of Mepal
