The Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) Engineer works within the QHSE Department. The QHSE Department consists of a complementary team of quality, safety/marine‑safety and environmental personnel.
The QHSE Engineer supports the onshore and offshore line organisation with the implementation and improvement of a multi‑faceted management system. The system encompasses a safety management system component (ISM fleet management), a component for product quality management (ISO 9001) and a component for environmental management (ISO 14001).
Job objective is to support the promotion of QHSE awareness as well as implementation of the management system throughout the company.
Your role- Provide QHSE support to commercial proposals and projects, departments and the vessels;
- Development of the required QHSE deliverables for projects;
- Providing QHSE support to projects and departments as required;
- Carry out internal and external audits as required by the management system and project (contract) requirements;
- Translate changes in legislation, standards, etc. Into QHSE implications for Allseas' operations;
- Participate in incident investigation teams;
- Prepare and issue Safety Flash Reports if required;
- Provide risk assessments to projects and the vessels.
- Monitor status of vessel audit findings and report to Manager QHSE on monthly basis;
- Monitor vessel modifications and provide safety engineering input as appropriate (in liaison with the QHSE Engineer on the project in case it is a project specific modification);
- Contact Safety Officer on a regular basis and discuss any (non‑project) items;
- Liaise with other QHSE Engineers to share lessons learned from individual vessels to identify trends;
- Respond to incident notification and investigation in liaison with Vessel Manager and Project QHSE Engineer;
- Maintain incident database and monitor close out of follow‑up actions;
- Provide HSE related input for portcall / docking / lay‑up documentation such as Emergency Bridging Documents and portcall instructions;
- Review observations entered into the Allseas Safety Awareness Programme (ASAP) database and the UA/UC/NM log on a monthly basis and provide feedback to the vessel as applicable;
- Follow up QHSE actions from the vessel HOD/SD SHE meetings and give feedback on the status of these actions.
- 3+ (Medior), 7+ (Senior) yrs of experience as a (Q)HSE professional in the offshore Industry.
- Knowledge in H&S management systems and risk mitigation strategy.
- Knowledge in occupational health & safety and sustainability.
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Safety or Engineering.
- Have a recognized H&S qualification on Dutch HVK/IVK level, NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
- Be able to communicate both in English and Dutch language (Preferred).
