Project Manager Offshore

Are you the Project Manager who can lead complex offshore projects from concept to completion? In this role, you bring together engineering, planning, commercial insight, and execution to deliver challenging projects in a controlled, practical, and successful way.

Our client provides custom solutions in the field of offshore energy activities. They advise from the initial feasibility studies to the execution of all engineering and procurement activities! They have a proven track record in offshore platforms, FPSOs, onshore facilities, and complex steel and mechanical installations for maritime applications, and are making great strides in the market for offshore hydrogen production.

As Project Manager, you are the driving force behind complex technical projects within our client’s offshore and energy-related portfolio. From the earliest project phase through execution, you take full ownership and keep every line of the project firmly under control. You prepare project plans and budgets, monitor progress, costs, and quality, and ensure that all stakeholders work together effectively. Thanks to your leadership and structured approach, engineering, tendering, and execution are aligned and delivered in a smooth and efficient manner.

You have a strong sense of where projects may go off track and know how to act before issues become real problems. You continuously monitor risks, identify bottlenecks, and make sure corrective action is taken at the right moment. Whether it is coordinating with clients, suppliers, or the engineers within the project team, you know exactly when to step in and how to keep momentum high. You are able to balance attention to detail with a broad project overview and naturally connect technical solutions with practical execution. In addition to your operational project responsibilities, you also play an active role on the commercial side. You contribute to proposal processes, assess risks, and identify opportunities within both the market and ongoing client relationships. You are comfortable leading discussions at a strategic level and understand how to uncover the real need behind a client’s request. From there, you translate that need into a workable, technically sound, and commercially strong solution.

As a key point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders, you bring people together with ease. Your natural communication style helps you align the right people, maintain pace, and create clarity in complex project environments. You are confident in leading multidisciplinary teams and know how to create a collaborative, results-driven way of working where responsibilities are clear and expectations are well managed.

You will work from our client’s office in the Dordrecht region, while also spending significant time on-site with clients, because that is where the work truly comes to life. You will become part of the Projects team, a multidisciplinary group of around 20 colleagues with a direct and practical style of working. This is a team that enjoys solving complex challenges, without making things more complicated than necessary. No lengthy reports when a clear one-pager will do. The focus is on practical thinking, thoughtful action, and delivering results — always.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical discipline, such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering
• Proven experience as a Project Manager in a technical, industrial, or project-based environment
• Offshore experience is a strong plus
• Experience preparing project plans and budgets, and monitoring planning, costs, and quality
• Strong skills in risk assessment, progress monitoring, and timely project steering
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating with clients, suppliers, and engineers
• Able to identify commercial opportunities and contribute to proposal processes
• Strong communication skills and comfortable operating at both operational and strategic level
• Practical, decisive, and able to connect engineering with execution
• Willingness to work regularly on-site at client locations
• Strong command of English, both written and spoken
