Exact Medical is an international provider of disposable medical products used in hospitals and clinical environments. The company focuses on the development, sourcing and distribution of sterile and non-sterile medical consumables, including procedure packs, drapes and other single-use products designed for use in operating rooms and clinical procedures. By combining product development, sourcing expertise and efficient distribution, Exact Medical supports healthcare providers in improving efficiency, safety and cost control.
The Managing Director, ultimately responsible for the EMEA business of Exact Medical, guides company's further growth, with the goal of tripling turnover in five years. The MD reports to the CEO in New York and leads the team in Nieuwkuijk. The team consists of nine employees, working in Sales, Customer Service, Finance, and QA.
Key goals and responsibilities include among others:
- Strategic Leadership & Growth: Develop and execute the strategy to achieve ambitious growth targets. This includes expanding the business in existing markets and strengthening the company's position as a key challenger in the industry.
- Commercial Management: Manage and optimize the international distributor and OEM sales channels. This involves setting pricing strategies, managing distributor performance, and identifying opportunities to strengthen the network (e.g., replacing underperforming distributors).
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead, coach, and develop the existing team. The leadership style should be empowering and supportive, helping the team solve problems without taking ownership away from them.
- Financial & Operational Management: Oversee the region's P&L, budget, and cash flow. Improve operational processes, particularly in supply chain and inventory planning (MRP). The candidate must be able to confidently read and interpret financial reports.
- Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary liaison with the US headquarters and fully owned Exact Medical production in China. This requires building strong relationships, reporting on performance, and skillfully navigating cultural and business dynamics, including discussions on investment, pricing, and financial performance.
- Extensive experience as commercially driven General Manager with a relevant P&L responsibility in an international B2B product environment, preferably in the medical device industry.
- Proven experience in managing international distributor networks and OEM clients, preferably from a 'challenger' position in the market.
- Strong financial and operational acumen, including P&L management and knowledge of supply chain/MRP processes.
- Cultural awareness for working across EMEA and with the US and with China, and an excellent command of the English language.
- A background in working for a family-owned company is prefered.
- BSc/MSc degree.
