Purpose of RoleTo lead trading activities in designated markets by leveraging existing buyer and supplier relationships, supported by the company’s global sourcing network. The Fish Trader will act as a commercial link between production and distribution, ensuring profitable and sustainable trade flow across regions.
Responsibilities- Negotiate and execute sales and purchase contracts for frozen and fresh seafood.
- Manage pricing, spreads, and financial risk per trade to ensure profitability.
- Expand client base and market coverage using the company’s supply lines and capital resources.
- Identify growth opportunities in new product categories and geographies.
- Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to secure efficient shipment flow.
- Verify product documentation, traceability, and quality compliance.
- Track key trading metrics (volumes, margins, client activity) and report insights weekly.
- Ensure all transactions meet trade regulations, certifications, and sustainability standards.
- Monthly trading volume (€ / tonnes)
- Gross margin per trade
- Number of active buyers/suppliers
- Client retention and growth rate
- Minimum 2 years of hands‑on seafood trading experience, preferably in frozen or fresh products.
- Existing portfolio of active clients and suppliers.
- Fluent in English; additional European languages (Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian) are an advantage.
- Strong commercial drive, negotiation skills, and financial acumen.
- Familiarity with logistics and documentation (INCOTERMS, customs, certificates).
- Performance-based earnings with competitive base salary and uncapped trading commissions.
