Our FSG Engineer Operations supports the Field Service Group in the preparation, planning, and execution of equipment mobilizations for global operations. Reporting to the FSG Team Leader, the Engineer Operations focuses on ensuring that all equipment, spares, and documentation are prepared and ready for projects executed away from base.
You will coordinate and execute equipment mobilizations and act as the key interface with the Strohm Projects organization, ensuring all operational requirements are captured and addressed well ahead of mobilization.
Based in IJmuiden, The Netherlands, the role also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives within the Field Service Group, including documentation updates, server organization, and procedure improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
In this role, you will:
- Maintain full traceability and accurate records of all equipment within the FSG inventory, ensuring equipment spreads remain up to date and consumables are replenished after each return.
- Perform physical inspections of returned equipment with team members and confirm the readiness status before equipment is returned to stock or redeployed.
- Mobilize complete equipment spreads for project execution, including all required pipe and pipe‑related components.
- Prepare comprehensive FSG mobilization documentation packages, including onsite procedures, guidelines, shipping lists, MELs, and other supporting documents.
- Identify equipment gaps and opportunities to improve equipment management and working processes, contributing to increased efficiency and long‑term operational improvements within the team.
- Be available to provide immediate support to overseas or offshore teams outside normal working hours when operational needs require it.
- Act as deputy for the FSG Team Leader during absences or holiday periods to ensure continuity of operations.
- Support overseas site visits when required and perform FSG technical duties at technician level where necessary.
- Interface and communicate with client representatives as directed by the FSG Team Leader, maintaining a professional and solutions‑focused approach.
What you bring:
- Minimum of 5–7 years’ of work experience in a project coordinator or operations type role.
- Experience with preparing equipment & document packages for operational use.
- Offshore / onsite (away from base) experience is an advantage.
- Proficient in English (both verbal and in writing).
- High level of safety awareness.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions.
- Reliable and team player attitude.
- Salary between €4000,- and €6000,- based on experience and qualifications.
