What’s the Role?
We’re looking for a superstar JR International Accountant to join our team in Rotterdam’s vibrant harbor district. Imagine working in an old spice warehouse, surrounded by the scents and colors of the Far East, with the stunning architecture of Dutch Manhattan just outside your window. Sounds dreamy, right?.
The International Junior Accountant assists in the proper accounting of the relevant companies in charge of the journal entries ensuring it is suitable with the provisions of the General Accounting Plan and other applicable regulations; as well as assisting in the proper filing of the tax returns of the companies responsible.
Assists the Finance Team in the analysis and review all of the operational issues initially with the Int. Accountant Coordinator and coordinating with hotel operational teams.
Your main tasks will be to contribute to the following:
Receive invoices from products/service providers that require complex and differentiated treatment, and other documents for payment (expense receipts, others), verify the invoice with supporting documentation (delivery notes, orders, supplies, authorized signatures, others).
Recording supplies, posting invoices, identifying accounting codes, resolving incidents (written or telephone calls outside or inside the organization, errors in recording delivery notes, others) and, if necessary, seeking advice from higher levels.
Accounts Receivable Input, Control accommodation advance deposits, monitor house banks and investments, analyze and investigate cashiers’ overs and shorts.
Review accounts payable monthly inventory reconciliations, review accounts payable purchase journal.
Maintain replacement reserve cash book and review and prepare input in the general ledger from various sources.
Review accounts payable/ inventory module.
Support higher levels in the closing of the monthly and annual financial statements, both individual and consolidated, and in the preparation of the annual accounts.
Verify and analyze the accounting entries of selected accounts, with an understanding of the accounting information reflected in the balance sheets.
Search and file documentation to ensure the correct recording of expenditure by accounting unit, account, and cost center.
Integrate files into SAP and post, analyze and report on accounting transactions, in accordance with accounting principles and internal Group policy.
Any other task related to the Finance, accounting, or administration of the group.

We would like you to have the following profile:
Diploma in Business Studies or equivalent
Minimum of 1 year experience in Business Accounting services
Knowledge of SAP ERP, Easy AP, Office are highly preferred
Knowledge of Opera cloud, NMBRS are a plus
High level of English both written and spoken, Dutch or a 3rd language preferred
Great organizational skills, analytical, proactive attitude
Lives in Amsterdam OR Rotterdam or in immediate surroundings of Amsterdam/Rotterdam; or concrete plans of moving to this region
Have EU nationality or Dutch residence and work permit
We would love if it you have experience in the hospitality or service industry, but this is not a must as long as you have the right personality for the job!
