Senior Monitoring Engineer

You are an energetic Senior Monitoring Engineer with a great interest in automation, where demonstrable knowledge and experience with monitoring tools like SCOM and/or Dynatrace is a hard requirement.

As a Senior Monitoring Engineer, you will work on the maintenance and administration of the monitoring solutions used in our IT environment. Within Stater N.V. We focus on: SCOM, Zabbix and Dynatrace as monitoring solutions. For these tools, we cover all facets: dealing with baselines and overrides, building custom solutions, setting up dashboards – and more, as long as it helps the teams within Stater. You will be happy to advise and guide our users on the best suited solutions that we can provide. Security and continuous improvement are important parts of all these activities.

Working agile, we try to plan most of our work, and we work in sprints. Next to this, in rotation, you will be the contact person for the team for issues which are initiated from ITIL processes like incident management, change management, problem management and configuration management.
This year at Stater, we are entering a transition in which the Monitoring team will become part of a broader tower structure. The aim of this change is to gain an even better grip on our environment by improving end-to-end monitoring and working more closely with the SRE's and the teams that actively use the monitoring solutions we provide.

As a Senior Monitoring Engineer, you will play an active role in this transition and ensure that, throughout the organizational changes, our monitoring tools remain stable and reliable.

In addition to the hard skills described in the next section, you bring a strong set of personal qualities that help the Monitoring Enablement team grow into a high-performing and happy team. You have an eye for the bigger picture and are able to connect different parts of the work. One day, you take a helicopter view and think organization-wide; the next day, you can zoom in on a specific request and bring those perspectives together.

You are a natural connector with strong communication skills. You are not afraid to take initiative and bring others along with your ideas. You are a great listener and are comfortable speaking up, giving and receiving feedback comes naturally to you. You enjoy sharing your knowledge with colleagues and are eager to continuously learn and improve yourself.

You are transparent and values-oriented, and you are familiar with working in a Scrum environment. You are able to stay focused in a dynamic setting, handle multiple priorities, and finish what you start.
Your skills:

• 4+ Years of Experience with at least one of the following monitoring tools, SCOM and/or Dynatrace.Experience with Zabbix or Azure Monitor is an advantage;
• Experience with end-to-end monitoring, including Kubernetes installation and configuration, alerting setup, baselining, and defining metrics and thresholds.
• Good knowledge of networking and system administration (RedHat and Windows);
• Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash and/or Ansible, to automate tasks;
• Strong understanding of Ansible and Azure DevOps, and their capabilities for automating IT tasks.
• Ability to identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly and efficiently
• Experience (or good understanding) working in Agile Environments (SAFe/SCRUM)
