As a Senior Trace Engineer within a long‑term, large-scale infrastructure program, you will take technical ownership of projects with medium to high complexity and play a central role in both design and execution phases.
Vacancy informationIn this role, you serve as the key link between clients, project teams, and execution partners, translating client requirements into smart, future‑proof designs for underground cable and pipeline systems. You combine site visits and field assessments with close collaboration in the office to ensure your designs are technically sound, safe, feasible, and aligned with regulations, planning, and budget. Throughout the project lifecycle, you stay actively involved by monitoring progress, mitigating risks, and providing technical guidance, while also mentoring junior engineers and strengthening the overall engineering team.
What do you need- Completed higher professional education (HBO level), preferably in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in underground infrastructure or engineering
- Proven experience in designing and delivering technical solutions within a project‑based environment
- Strong affinity with underground cable and pipeline systems
- Ability to take full responsibility for technical designs and develop creative, practical solutions
- Experience mentoring or coaching junior engineers
- Strong communication skills and a good command of the Dutch language
- Proactive, structured, and quality‑driven working style
