About the RoleAs a Senior Engineer Electra, you are responsible for the engineering scope assigned to you within one or more projects. With your experience, you play a guiding role within the team and contribute to delivering high-quality technical results.
You ensure the timely and accurate execution of the design, from the basic principles to detailed engineering. This includes the proper documentation in drawings, 3D models, and other deliverables such as data sheets. In addition, you actively contribute to the department’s development by sharing knowledge, improving quality standards, and driving innovation within your field.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with project specifications, regulations, and Class/Flag requirements.
- Assess manufacturability and technical feasibility in collaboration with other disciplines.
- Identify technical issues and propose well-founded, interdisciplinary solutions.
- Develop and maintain technical standards, norms, and best practices.
- Coach and support engineers, ensuring accuracy and quality of deliverables.
- Review and approve drawings and documentation before release.
- Manage timely delivery of assigned scope within budget and schedule.
- Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and production to align design and execution.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent level of education) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an engineer in this discipline, or at least 3 years as a senior engineer in a comparable organization.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Broad technical understanding of electrical systems within yacht or shipbuilding.
- Knowledge of production techniques and experience with the manufacturability of engineered components.
- Proficiency in CAD and PLM systems (e.g. AutoCAD, Teamcenter).
- Familiarity with regulations and procedures from classification societies and flag states, as well as safety, quality, and environmental standards.
