The company has grown from 11 employees in 2017 to over 450 staff globally today, and is on track to reach around 550 by the end of 2026. This expansion includes investment of over A$50 million annually in R&D, a global pipeline exceeding A$2.5 billion, and continuous scaling of production capacity to meet accelerating demand.

DroneShield’s European operations are anchored in Amsterdam, serving as a strategic hub supporting customers across the EU and broader region. The Amsterdam office plays a key role in strengthening regional partnerships, supporting customer engagements, and advancing DroneShield’s presence across Europe and defence, security, and critical infrastructure markets. As demand for counter-drone capabilities continues to grow across Europe, the office supports localised engagement while contributing to the company’s broader global strategy.

This newly created position will report to the General Counsel. As DroneShield continues its rapid global expansion, this role is essential to ensure our legal frameworks keep pace with growth. You will play a key role in safeguarding the company’s interests, supporting strategic initiatives, and ensuring compliance across a complex international operating environment. Working closely with the business, you will enable innovation while managing legal risk.

• Supporting the legal team drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of contracts, including employment, NDAs, partnerships, technology, engineering, manufacturing, and procurement agreements.
• Researching matters related to intellectual property, export controls, and employment law, collaborating with the General Counsel, broader legal team, trade controls team, and external counsel as needed.
• Engage with Dutch and EU regulators and ensure compliance with local and European laws, including RF spectrum use and export controls.
• Support the development and maintenance of policies and governance frameworks.
• Conduct legal due diligence for potential sales, partnerships, and vendors.
• Assist in the development and growth of the new EU team and office, sales, and partnerships.

• Law degree from an accredited Dutch or European university.
• 2 to 4 years of law firm or in-house experience, preferably with exposure to technology, engineering, or manufacturing sectors.
• Interest in intellectual property (IP), export controls, and employment law, with a global perspective.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
• Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English, both written and verbal.
