German Speaking Metal Trader

A well-established Japanese trading house is currently looking for a German Speaking Metal Trader to join their growing Metal Recycling & Primary Metals Dept. Based in their Amsterdam Branch, this role will ideally suit those with 2 years of sales experience.
This position requires about 30% business travel per month.

Type: Full-time 12-month contract to start, to become permanent
Working hours: 9:00-17:00 from Monday to Friday *Currently, hybrid working style, working 3 days a week in office
Salary: up to €4,000 per month depending on experience, plus good benefits (travel fee, health insurance)

Location: Amsterdam - the Netherlands

German Speaking Metal Trader Responsibilities:

1. Dealing with Non-Ferrous metal recycling and its primary metal in the worldwide market
2. Handling customers through purchase to sales in all aspects of business, i.e. Marketing, visiting, quality checking, pricing, negotiation for purchase & sales, managing documentation, payments & profit calculation
3. Taking care of existing customers & developing new customers, new item, business schemes & new flow of business in various countries
4. Resolving customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, & making recommendations
5. Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
6. Reporting to management by submitting daily activities & own analytical thought
7. Business trip

1. Ability to speak both English & German
2. Right to work (e.g. EU nationality, Dutch work permit)
3. Minimum Bachelor’s or equivalent
4. EU Driving license
5. 2+ years of experience in sales field would be advantageous
6. Experienced in other company for at least 3 years would be advantageous
7. Client relationships, communication skills for various types & nationalities of people & customers, negotiation skills, translation skills, closing skills, self-confidence, self-motivated, toughness for hard work and travels & presentation skills

1. Knowledge of international trading (Shipping, Incoterms etc.)
2. Japanese is not mandatory, but a person who is at least interested in Japanese culture is preferred
3. Personality that enjoys traveling to different countries is an advantage
4. Serious but able to have fun
