Join the Revolution in GNSS and IoT Connectivity. At Qualinx, we’re not just building chips, we’re engineering the future fabric of the connected world. As a pioneering semiconductor scale-up, we’re transforming how devices connect, communicate, and operate through our Digital RF technology. Our mission goes beyond ultra-low power GNSS: we’re redefining what’s possible in adaptive, scalable, and intelligent connectivity for the Internet of Things.
Born from deep-tech innovation at TU Delft, our team tackles GNSS and IoT challenges, focusing on power consumption and context-aware solutions. We’ve achieved the world’s most advanced GNSS chipset, and we’re just getting started. Our aim is to become the invisible thread that interconnects billions of devices.
Role OverviewWe’re looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable, secure, high-performance cloud infrastructure for compute-intensive semiconductor design workloads (EDA, simulation, verification). You’ll own key parts of our AWS cloud platform, with a focus on AWS RES Studio (RES Studio user environments), HPC engineering, and automation-first operations. You’ll work with CAD, design, and verification teams to improve throughput, reliability, and cost efficiency while maintaining strong security and compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Design and operate AWS-based environments optimized for semiconductor/EDA workloads (interactive and batch compute)
- Build and maintain AWS RES Studio environments for end users, including performance, scalability, and lifecycle management
- Architect HPC solutions across compute, storage, and data movement (high-throughput, low-latency)
- Deploy, tune, and support compute clusters using SLURM (capacity planning, queue policies, scheduling behavior)
- Infrastructure as Code & Automation
- Implement and version infrastructure using Terraform (and Ansible where appropriate)
- Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure provisioning and platform changes
- Develop reusable modules, templates, and standards to improve consistency and speed of delivery
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve availability and performance across cloud infrastructure and cluster services
- Establish operational best practices (alerting, runbooks, incident response, change control)
- Partner with CAD/engineering teams to optimize workflows, usage patterns, and job throughput
- Apply secure-by-design principles, modern AWS security practices, and zero-trust concepts
- Implement IAM strategy, network segmentation, encryption, and secrets management
- Participate in security reviews, vulnerability remediation, and compliance audits
- Support Kubernetes environments, including cluster operations and deployment workflows
- Enable containerized workloads for supporting services and (where feasible) parts of EDA toolchains
- 10+ years in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or similar roles
- Strong hands-on AWS experience, including designing for performance and scale
- Practical experience with AWS RES Studio
- Strong infrastructure-as-code skills with Terraform (Ansible is a plus)
- Experience with HPC schedulers and batch systems (SLURM required; AWS Batch is a plus)
- Solid understanding of networking, distributed systems, compute provisioning, and storage architectures
- Strong knowledge of cloud security: IAM, encryption, least-privilege design, and secure networking
- Exposure to semiconductor design workflows, EDA toolchains, or other HPC-heavy industries
- Kubernetes and container ecosystem experience
- Proficiency with or exposure to Keysight SOS versioning and release management
- Observability tooling experience (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana)
- Proficiency with Git-based workflows
- Scripting skills (Python, Bash, etc.)
